finally…

about time i put up some of the pictures from christmas…….  time with three of gavin’s sweet cousins. whom i adore.

i actually feel like my camera has been quiet lately, and it has been a nice break.  but putting these together and looking through them all is such a treasure to me, i think i’ll be picking it up again soon.i have many more.  i have a full iPhone – camera used to capture every minute.  i can hear their sweet little voices through these pictures and we miss them all already.  maybe that’s part of why i didn’t want to post any pictures – to not end the visit & the season & the break too soon.

looking back & forward

this time of year, this phase — i look back at a lot and forward to so much more. intensions of valuing both.

i have two big photo posts in the works – but until then, i spent a little time reflecting on my review of the year that i did last january and can’t wait to see how my 2011 review will be.

until i get my blogging self back in action — enjoy a little tour of 2010 here

and a little tune from beautiful singer Marissa Nadler above.

a little time

a little time with family.  a little time away from the chores. a little time to sort through the happenings of life.

i’ll be back soon to the ol’ blog with all the pictures of our happenings.

…but i am enjoying a little time away for now.

festive

so many things festive this time of year.  like the concert at church that made a tie necessary…the tree lighting at our little tiny beach town – that makes me remember why this is the BEST place on earth to live.warm fires in our fireplacewarm coffee dates on a rainy morning with my boy…the tree & how he transforms it just a little bit every day.children singing songs of christmasa “hoot” of a party…and one of my favorites — admiring neighborhood lights.gifts to be given.all the jolly treasures we dig out every year.

slowing down

this time of year, things are happening all over the place.  but this morning i woke up feeling that things were slower today.

i just may get to all those pictures i’ve been wanting to post of our december festivities, i just  may go for a walk with my family and enjoy christmas lights, i just may start thinking about doing a little christmas present shopping.and i just wanted to share, i’ll be having lots of festive pictures coming in the days ahead –

at last

it feels like it has been months since i’ve really been able to participate in ten on ten.  loved the experience to capture moments throughout our day.

as you go by.

i had the true honor of photographing corey and her family. she has style & grace. and is a photographer herself.  a deep breathe of fresh air. i added a song i listened to a few times while editing these little gems for her. from the tree of fruit in winter, to the amazing sun drenched field, photographing this family was a dream…

post-posting note:

i stayed up way too late doing these pictures, and enjoyed every minute of it.

at a little after mid-night i sent corey an email saying they were finally up….  this morning, the first email in my inbox was from her at 6:13am::

“Stacy, I can hardly breathe. This is such a gorgeous portrayal of our little family. I cannot thank you enough. And your words, just beautiful. Thank you a million times over. I’ll be pouring over these all day long! You’re incredible. xoxo C”

holiday cheer

i was so gracious and created many reasons for this girl to laugh throughout the entire photoshoot last evening.  just imagine slow motion — me flipping over backwards over a piano bench and watching my legs flying through the air and crashing to a not-so-graceful landing.  oh, and shall i mention it was in a well-visited area where several bystanders even commented on the humor of it.  (i thought you were supposed to just laugh to your self when you saw a stranger eat it…  i think it was too funny and ridiculous they couldn’t help it!)  no one was hurt, but all of our stomachs from laughing so hard.  i was crying a little because i couldn’t stop laughing.  this little girl kept saying “laugh like you just saw stacy flip over and fall!!”  and she would just BUST OUT laughing.  glad i could bring some holiday cheer…
