a good life…

our thanksgiving roadtrip to northern california…
and just in case we missed anything — gavin and i sloppily snapped pictures with my iPhone.

i dare say we took too many pictures.  but when you are in beautiful places with beautiful family – how can i resist?

day three

well we made it…  ingrid and i together hit around 1000 pictures between the two of us, in our just three days of family togetherness…

when you have little faces with lots of freckles like this around, how can you resist?!

“here’s to now”…

pretty much amazing. ingrid! my beautiful sister-in-law recently took a trip, and snapped these with her iPhone.  i think ing & matt could be a movie with their adventures, eye for beauty, sense of self in the world, and just being amazing.  i had to share her pictures!!  and in honor of matt’s birthday, i put a little soundtrack on my ‘ole blog from “180 degrees south” (one of the greats.)   keep your eye out here for tons of pictures coming soon of all of us together!!  how many pictures you think we’ll take over the holiday ing?  500?  750?

smelling plumeria

it is one of those mornings that the fog is so thick that gavin keeps asking if it is going to snow… sorry bud, coastal san diego isn’t really known for snow.  for some reason – my computer opened this morning to our pictures from lanai.  and i just started drooling and smelling the plumeria.  sigh…  so i’ll use my little blog as a window to dream about lanai and the day we’ll return…

our version of the ballet class

i see these sweet little blog posts around on girls’ ballet classes, and really…. it doesn’t get much cuter.  however, we have a boy — and i think he doesn’t get much cuter, and the new skateboarding class is like our version of ballet.  i swear he walked out of that one hour class about 2 inches taller.i had to sit outside the fence, made it feel like such a hard-core activity….there was a huge wave painted on one of the walls, on it read “forever stoked”…  i’m a little shocked at how much i loved skateboarding & the skate park…

living room, yard, & beyond…

this shoot just seemed to get progressively better as it went on…  watching the sweetest children smile gracefully and then turn those smiles into belly-laughs with each other… and then exploring the hill beyond their yard.  what a treasure. (it was raining hard last evening, while i was working through the field pictures, listening to the band “The Battle of Land & Sea” – the music is almost so airy it is almost eery…  i included two songs above — enjoy…)

ten on ten :: november (a bust again)

i started the day with grand intentions to once again participate in my favorite photo-blogging challenge, ten on ten…..  however – not even one ten on ten picture happened.  i just had too many random pictures already on my computer collecting dust from the last ten or so days of november so far.   so ten on ten is a mere compilation of november photos so far…  i think i’ll be back at it for ten on ten december with a bang (or at least i’ll participate).  thanks for this reminder each month rebekah to see beauty in our days and lives.
