up on a hill

…as the sun started to get too low at their house – we drove to a “look-out” in their neighborhood.

my jaw dropped at the beautiful valley of green and the warm glow of the sun.

family pictures from the whole session coming later, it was just too much fun.

the magic of sport

there is something almost magical about sports.  the energy, the excitement, the dream.  this season of baseball, when gavin is now a little older, feels a little different.  his eyes lit up a little more and in a different way this time.  special.

it was just such a “san diego” night.  padres spirit, a military plane, thick “may-gray” skies, my cousin on a beach cruiser…

‘welcome to the trojan family’

pictures

i am really behind on pictures…  get ready for some posts coming up.  mostly what our little family has been up to.  on this rainy day – it is a perfect excuse to stay in and look at them and work through them.  gavin’s painted, done play-dough, pulled out every toy, and it’s just been a perfect inside day.

one of the things that just made our day nice, was having pandora on—  i put “you are my sunshine” by elizabeth mitchell as the starting song – and all that came kept gavin softly bobbing his head, while i enjoyed it too.  have a peaceful day!

meadow

this is meadow. she is five days old.  gwen, meadow’s mother, is a very good friend. and the twin girls, are gavin’s VERY good friends.  sometimes they forget they are just friends, and act a little more like siblings. meadow is going to be a wonderful addition to our little community, and we already love her.gwen came over, and we did nothing fancy.  we put meadow on my kitchen table and took some pictures of her, while two 4 year olds and 1 three year old played in the background.  i even somehow managed to make some dinner for the three “big” ones during the shoot.  i can’t wait to look through the rest i took this evening.such a big girl. born at 9 pounds, 5 ounces.  100% natural.

such proud sisters.gavin REALLY wanted his picture by baby meadow too, but this was about as close as he got.  he was a little nervous.  and a little confused maybe why she was sleeping on the dining table.and meadow with her beautiful and strong mama

ingrid.

a visit from auntie ingrid is ALWAYS loved by all.  with matt by her side – it just seemed perfectly completed and it all just fits.  and there was no shortage of canons present.life really is good.  the flowers they gifted me for mothers day and all. the clouds may have been thick, and the ocean breezes chilly.  but is was the kind of day where you feel so good to have your skin sticky from ocean air.  i tried my hardest at selling the lifestyle of north coastal sd to them.  maybe it worked a little?  hmmm….  well i just keep trying.

SUCH a sweet aunt to gavin.  and we are ALL lucky to have her.  tonight she is going to make us cookies.  see?!?!  how awesome is auntie ingy?!?!
