missing them

baby hasn’t made his debut. and things have quieted down a lot after all the family visit over the past 10 or so days…  but as much as i love when things quiet down around the home, i miss the constant chatter & energy & buzz from all the family.  so i am working through looking at the nearly 500+ pictures i took over their visit…  trying to narrow them down.  (not easy)  so since i actually have a little time on my hands — you can bet that there will be a huge family blog post coming soon.  maybe not 500 pictures, but i could easily look at 500 pictures of these sweet nieces, nephew, and my gav.

the last shoot…

my last photo shoot into this pregnancy was a beautiful way to end a very very busy photography season this summer…  i was so close to not feeling up to doing it — to bending down at the beach and walking through the sand.  but i am so beyond glad i did.  this sweet little family i had never met, here from texas visiting…  what a treat to photograph them enjoying the beach and their incredibly adorable little boy.

so in celebrating that i am completely finished with all my editing and photoshoots from the summer, i am posting some favorites from my last shoot until october…

wrapping it all up…

in anticipation of a few weeks (almost 2 months) off of photographing other’s lovely families, i am soaking in some of these last editing moments giving photographs to others.  a little bitter-sweet.  it really is such a rare opportunity to spend almost 2 hours with a family, with just them. to see their interactions and love.  i hope to do a big post coming up in the next day or so of all the july shoots i did.  (but the reality is, i probably won’t ever get to it…)

i truly am so thankful to get little glimpses into each family i photograph.  it is an honor i wish i could savor more every time.

however,  it will be so refreshing & rejuvenating to step back and photograph for pure selfish reasons for a while.

waiting on an angel

such a sweet little song…  listening to it (up above) as i download these few pictures from our lunch date after church, before the boys headed to the horse races.  enjoying a quiet overcast day before so much activity, company, and the move from a family of three to a family of four…took the last baby-belly shot today.  and the countdown begins…

into a family that laughs…

my very dear friend, of around 20 years, welcomed the sweetest little baby into the world yesterday.  within hours i was dying to go see him!  here he is, the most beautiful baby boy – within hours of entering the world.  he joins one of the most wonderful families, and an incredible extended family on both sides.  already mateo,  you are loved and soooo blessed with the family that you have been given.  and without a doubt, you are going to be a huge blessing & an amazing, special, and unique addition to your family.
