gratitude

this morning i am so grateful. it’s quiet, warm, the tree lights are on and my little boys are content & cozy.  i want to say thank you to each person who has been an encourager of this place, & of my photography.  letting me into your world, your family, & your homes (whether through taking your pictures, or just by my blog).  thank you for the encouraging words, the warmth, the gifts for kai… i am beyond amazed at the thoughtfulness & graciousness.

sweet corey wrote me this email after her shoot at the time she wrote it, i was tired, overwhelmed, exhausted… & totally burned out of taking pictures.  maybe beyond tired, going a little nutty…  it lifted my spirits & kept me trudging on to today.  when all the christmas rush has settled & now i look back with gratitude.

Stacy, thank you for this beautiful post. This is what we do for our friends, family and colleagues, in times of utter exhaustion or struggle. We lift each other up and remind one another why we do whatever it is that we do. We’re are relevant, all blessed with talents and strengths, gifts that we unconsciously give to others day in and day out. You just needed a little reminder of what makes you the gift that you are, to my family and so many others. Merry Christmas to the Bostrom family! xo

hi stacey. I don’t know you. You don’t know me. This is not something I typically do (write on a strangers blog), but after reading this, I felt compelled to write something. I stumbled across your blog about 5-6 months ago from rebekah’s blog and somehow stumbled on hers from a friend of mine. I have loved reading and looking at your pictures. They inspire me. I wish I lived close so you could photograph my family of three! :) We live simply and I love every idea of living simply and this is what you capture. I get a glimpse of who your family is in your pictures and how easy you make it seem (even though I’m sure you have days too!). I love your friends words and what that truly says about you as a person. Anyway, I hope this isn’t weird, but inspiring. :) You do an amazing job at capturing beauty – God’s beauty! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
