it’s been a year. it flies by, but feels like he’s been in our lives forever. he is fun, he is sweet, he is engaging, he is just perfect. while cakes are baking in the oven, i savored a few moments scrolling through the first blog collection of pictures when we brought him home.so tomorrow,...

all over the blogs, instagram, Facebook… you see these kids holding up signs about what grade they are starting… with big smiles, a fresh new outfit, tamed & clean hair. and the moms talking about their tears about their big kids off to new grades. well… not around here folks. not so pretty or cute...
this is what it was. but oh so much more. the camera set aside, as i helped gavin catch wave after wave after wave. standing up for the first time – truly surfing, on his own board. gently riding in the waves. a calm, sweet, perfection to end the week.
it always makes me a tad nervous – but it is my most favorite. probably why i end up becoming friends with those i photograph. it’s pretty special. and this family… very very special. a little mini-post of a few gems (the gems being them).
