this month, ten on ten happened to fall on the day of gavin’s birthday party. i just had a hard time thinking of taking a picture every hour – so i totally hodge-podged pictures together from over the day. i’ll do a full post on the fun baseball party we had soon… but for now – some ten – on – ten teasers of the party.
brought the boots out – here we are september. ready for a good month, a full month. holding on to summer – walking into autumn.

at dinner tonight, gavin in his pj’s – i remembered. oh yeah – i was going to enjoy the day through photographs… a bit of a fail. i grabbed the camera and took about a dozen quick pictures. maybe friday will be a more “beautiful” day to photograph. some days in reality are just not all that beautiful. i think i’ll force myself to see it as beautiful tomorrow.

every once in a while, i just take pictures all day and love the evenings sorting through them and picking out ones that grab me. sometimes i take 200 and only 10 make the blog and 0 ever get printed… but i love the experience of photographing a day. like here, or here… so tomorrow – i have no special agenda, no fancy outings planned… but i am going to see what my eye photographs tomorrow. and hope some of you join me. just take pictures of your day, and post them – no words necessary – no fancy agenda. just life. this one picture below is a 16×20 print in my house right now – taken from an attitude of being relaxed and just seizing a day/moment. we’ll see if we get another wall-worthy picture tomorrow. but i really don’t plan on it and really don’t care if i don’t. so here’s to photographing the day tomorrow… check back…

a beachy family on a gray day. loose teeth, soft hair on a free-spirited little girl…
a little side note: this photo shoot was really interesting. the skies were seriously really really gray and dark. AND the sand was really sticky and allll over – so i never changed my lens or anything much. i shot the whole shoot with the 50mm prime lens, nothing too fancy. just made sure my exposure was up so the photos weren’t too dark. but with a 50mm prime for the whole shoot though – i sure had to move around a lot… and i was a wet sandy mess!
