the goughs. all of them. on whidbey island.

there is something so challenging & humbling about photographing people you know & love. i’m not sure when i met the first gough, but all i know is it was maybe around 15 years ago, and they have been special ever since. usually i start with photos, but this time – we start with them in motion.  we ended up with over 200 images from our time together, but here are just around 75… enjoy!

Psalm 127:3-5 says:

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.

Whenever I read these verses, I think about the Goughs. Now it’s not just sons, but grandsons (and granddaughters). Blessed are the Goughs for this wonderful family! (and we’re blessed to know them!)

This incredibly wonderful collection of pictures of the Gough family is beyond beautiful. It just made us feel full to the brim
with joy to see this precious family so remarkably captured. All of it was amazing…the music, the video and the pictures. Thank you for this outstanding portrait of our dear Goughs! God is so good!

I found you on a google search – shooting indoor natural light. I’ve stumbled onto a treasure. Your work is tearfully beautiful and I am inspired. Thank you.
